Frequently Asked Questions
How do I assemble a braided hose end?
Cut the hose square with a sharp blade. Dip the end in oil. Thread the socket counter-clockwise onto the hose until the end is flush with the socket. Thread the nipple clockwise into the socket — it should self-start without binding. Tighten by hand then bench-vice 1/8-turn more. Never use pipe wrenches on the swivel nut.
Aluminum vs stainless hose ends?
Aluminum ends are lighter and adequate for fuel, oil, and coolant lines that won't see direct heat or abrasion. Stainless ends are required near exhaust, on turbo oil feeds/returns where radiant heat is a concern, and for lines that are repositioned frequently (stainless resists galling on the swivel thread).
What's the difference between -6AN and -8AN flow rate?
-6AN has an ID of approximately 9.5 mm and flows roughly 35 L/min at 3 bar — adequate for fuel lines to 600 HP. -8AN has an ID of approximately 11.1 mm and flows roughly 60 L/min — correct for turbo oil feeds and fuel lines on high-power builds.
